Frequently Asked Questions

  • We know it’s not easy to reach out for support. You may not even know exactly what it is your in need of. That’s okay!  During our phone consultation, you can expect us to ask for more details about what you’re looking for help with.  This will give us an idea if we are a good fit for your needs.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions, understand our rates/fees, how we work with insurance companies, and out-of-network benefits, etc.

If we are a good fit, then we’ll get you scheduled for your first session.  We’ll need your full name, email address, phone number,  and a payment method on file to reserve your appointment. You’ll get an e-mail with a link to all the paperwork to be completed within 48 hours.

    • We establish our relationship.

    • We initiate the start to sharing your story.

    • We talk about your goals and aspirations.

    • We identify what it is that you would like to accomplish.

This is the time for us to determine if we are a good fit. Do we seem like someone you can trust?

We are establishing a relationship that will become the foundation for working together. You will begin to identify some of your goals and we will coach you on your journey to help you get there.

  • Appointments are 50 minutes. This is the standard length of a counseling session. If you are interested in a longer session, please contact us regarding availability and pricing.

  • In efforts to prevent delays in your progress, we will likely recommend meeting once per week. We find it helpful to gain some momentum in the very beginning by meeting weekly to avoid your progress coming to a standstill. If the symptoms of distress are significant, consideration will be made to meet more frequently.

  • At this time, all therapy sessions are offered exclusively via secure online telehealth. In-person sessions are not available.

Telehealth allows clients to receive consistent, high-quality care from the comfort of their own space, without travel time or location limitations. All sessions are conducted through a HIPAA-compliant, confidential video platform and meet the same clinical and ethical standards as in-person therapy.

Clients must be physically located in Florida at the time of the session.

If you have questions about telehealth or want to make sure it’s a good fit for you, feel free to reach out.

    Important Insurance Disclosure

Please note: Submitting an insurance claim requires the assignment of a mental health diagnosis, which becomes part of your medical record with your insurance provider.

If you have questions about insurance coverage, benefits, or self-pay options, feel free to reach out for clarification.

  • If you are unable to attend a scheduled session, at least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will be charged at the full session rate.

An occasional exception may be made in the case of a true emergency. That said, consistent attendance is an important part of the therapeutic process and helps ensure meaningful progress.

If you have questions or need to reschedule, please reach out as soon as possible.

  • No. We do not prescribe medication, as we are not medical doctors.

Many clients find that medication can be a helpful part of treatment, while others make meaningful progress through therapy alone. Treatment recommendations are individualized and based on your unique needs and goals.

If you would like to be evaluated for psychiatric (psychotropic) medication, you may contact your primary care physician or request a referral to a local psychiatrist.

If you are currently taking medication, we are happy to coordinate care with your prescribing provider with a signed Release of Information.

  • We currently provide therapy services to adolescents ages 15 and older and adults.

At this time, we do not offer:

    • Child custody evaluations or custody recommendations

    • Treatment for eating disorders

    • Treatment for psychotic disorders (including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and related conditions)

    • Treatment for personality disorders

Additionally, due to state licensing regulations, we are only able to provide therapy and counseling services to individuals physically located in the State of Florida at the time of services.

If we determine that your needs would be better supported elsewhere, we are happy to assist with appropriate referrals whenever possible.
