Javier is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida and a Certified Oncology Social Worker, dedicated to helping you navigate life’s complexities with understanding and care. He believes that "the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of well-being are deeply interconnected." With a special focus on adolescents and young adults, Javier recognizes that this pivotal stage often involves significant transitions and identity exploration. He is committed to empowering young individuals, helping them build resilience and develop effective coping strategies that will serve them throughout their lives.
Specializing in chronic illnesses, particularly in hematology and oncology, Javier provides compassionate support for those facing cancer diagnoses, survivorship, and treatments such as blood and marrow stem cell transplants. He is well-equipped to help clients manage the emotional and psychological challenges associated with issues like graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) and end-of-life care. Javier also understands the unique struggles faced by Healthcare Workers and members of the LGBTQ+ community, ensuring that everyone receives the affirming support they need to heal and thrive.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Javier is a Qualified Supervisor, which allows him to guide and mentor other mental health professionals. His therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy and compassion, utilizing a variety of clinical interventions tailored to your unique needs. Techniques include Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (T-CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Humanistic Counseling, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Existential Therapy. Janelle’s diverse background includes education, substance abuse, adolescent mental health, and medical/healthcare settings, allowing her to connect deeply with clients from all walks of life.
With a strong focus on adolescent and teen depression and suicide prevention, Janelle is passionate about supporting young people during their most vulnerable times. She has extensive experience working in both educational environments and crisis intervention settings. Utilizing effective modalities such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the strengths perspective, Janelle empowers her clients to build resilience, find their voice, and discover pathways to healing.
Janelle also offers compassionate support to adults, particularly those navigating Drug Court and overcoming substance abuse challenges.
